PICK UP, AIR SHIPPING OR LOCAL DELIVERY

SHIPPING TO THE USA OR OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Viewing and picking up animals at our home Niagara Falls.

We prefer that our animals be picked up in person at our home in Niagara Falls, ON by the purchaser, however we know that this is not always possible and sometimes people need to choose shipping or delivery to get their pet to them.

We do welcome visits to our home in Niagara Falls, Ontario, from people who are serious about viewing and purchasing one of our animals. When we schedule appointments, we give precedence to people who have already left a deposit on a pet.

Please respect the fact that we are a private home and that we are not open to the public. We house our breeding animals in separate breeding facilities in our other home and only ever show animals that are ready to leave.

We do not do tours! Besides, we (like most people), lead very busy lives and whenever we do invite anyone to our home, we must first rearrange our schedule and we simply do not have enough time to entertain spectators. Disrupting our day and rearranging our schedule to accommodate people who are not truly serious about purchasing or learning about the animals we raise, causes far too much commotion for our pets and for ourselves and it is far too stressful for nocturnal animals, especially mothers with babies.

We receive a lot of requests from people wanting to see if they are allergic to one of our pets, before deciding to purchase one. We are certainly not the ideal place to come to and have a "Test Run" to see if you are going to be allergic to a specific pet. We have other pets in our home, if you or someone already has concerns regarding allergies, you will likely react to something in our home, whether that be, a cat, dog, bird, hedgehog etc.

By now, you may have already noticed that when requesting to visit a breeder, unless you have already left a deposit on a specific pet, that many breeders require a Reservation Fee prior to booking an appointment (some breeders refer to this fee as a non-refundable educational fee). Typically, the Reservation Fees are usually deducted from the purchase price of the pet. This is done because it reassures the us that when we rearrange our day that the person coming has a vested and sincere interest in one of our pets instead of us waiting for people who sometimes fail to show up or just want to visit so that they can play with a pet.

We require a minimum of 25% non-refundable deposit to hold a specific pet or if you choose not to send a deposit because you would rather wait until you have picked out the animal in person, a $25.00 non-refundable Reservation Fee is required at the time you are scheduling a visit. The Reservation Fee will be deducted from the purchase price of the pet.

If you don't want to reserve a pet by deposit or send a Reservation Fee, you are certainly welcome to visit. Please understand that if we book your visit last minute that we will not wait more than an hour or so please call within an hour or so in advance, on the day you want to come by, and we will see if we can accommodate your visit. However please keep in mind that we are busy and on the days we schedule appointments we often have appointments booked back to back and therefore we cannot usually accommodate an unscheduled visit.

Before we schedule your appointment, we need to know which animals that interest you the most. That way if they don’t sell by the time of your visit, we can have those animals and a few similar animals available for your viewing. Please be aware that just because you have scheduled an appointment does not mean the animal is on hold. If the animal sells and we don’t have one that is similar, if timeline allows, we will call you to cancel the appointment. Keep in mind that we often have appointments on the same day. Sometimes they are booked back to back and many of our customers drive several hours to get here so we need to be mindful and respect their appointment.

It is best if we have a contact number to contact you just in case we need to reschedule or cancel the appointment. This seldom happens but we want to be respectful. Especially if you have chosen not to leave a deposit and the animal you are interested in sells while you are already on your way.

AIR TRANSPORTATION POLICY

We occasionally will ship by air but only within Canada.

We use Air Canada Cargo and West Jet Cargo.

In Canada, shipping live animals by air is extremely regulated! There are very strict policies and procedures in place that need to be followed and the process can be quite time consuming and therefore adds to the cost for the breeder and for the purchaser.

Often some breeders may simply not want to bother investing any time into making shipping arrangements. The hobby of caring for and raising healthy pets is the number one priority to a good breeder. Sales or delivery is not likely going to be on the top 10 things to do list as most good breeders are never in a rush to sell a pet. They are confident that within a few days someone else who can also provide a good caring home for the pet will come along. When asked about shipping, many breeders who are not interested in investing their time into shipping, will be honest as why they do not ship. Others may reply expressing unsubstantiated facts, i.e. often telling people that shipping animals by Air is dangerous and that it is far too stressful for the animal. While this may be their own opinion it is certainly not ours. Shipping animals by air is considered safe and, in our opinion, it is probably a lot less stressful then driving a long distance, in heavy traffic.

Of course, we prefer to meet everyone considering purchasing one of our pets in person, but we realize that this is not always practical. Like many people, we too have experienced some of the challenges of trying to locate a specific animal. We certainly understand the feelings of frustration, when you finally find the perfect pet, but the breeder is not willing to ship or if you are lucky enough to find a breeder willing to ship just to cover the shipping costs it often ends up becoming impractical or not affordable.

Although we prefer not to ship, if/when we have the time, we will try to help you get the animal  that you are hoping to purchase. If we agree to arrange air transportation, please understand that shipping is not our priority, we only offer this as a courtesy to those who are seriously interested in purchasing our pets.

Below are a few things that need to be understood by everyone before we will start to make plans to have any animal shipped by air. And, to help us keep track of where, when and who, when inquiring about shipping, we ask that they read the information below and then if you are still interested please submit a Shipping Request Form that is available on this site. (This form must be completed before we will begin to proceed with arranging or quoting a price for Air Shipping.)

1. We have no control of Flight schedules or fees.

2. The purchaser understands that shipping fees are a separate purchase which is not part of the price of the animal(s) that are being purchased and these fees are not covered under our Health Guarantee and the shipping fees are not refundable nor transferrable!

3. The purchaser assumes all responsibility for all transportation fees, permit fees, veterinary fees, and other associated charges that may pertain to shipping.

4. All Shipping Fees must be paid for in full, at the time of booking a flight reservation and these fees are non-refundable. After the payment has been received, we will go ahead and make the reservation and forward you a confirmation email (itinerary).

5. In addition to the flight charges, being that we NEVER hold any animal(s) without a deposit, a minimum of 25 % of the total price of every animal being purchased from us, must also be paid at the time of booking.

6. No Animal leaves our home unless it has been paid for in full (including transport fees), at least 72 hours prior to the delivery date and time. If we do not receive payment on time all deposits and the shipping fees will be lost (forfeited by the purchaser).

7. We guarantee that the shipment will arrive for departure at the airport on time (excluding things that are not in our control such as airline disruptions or rescheduling, highway accidents, inclimate weather and road conditions etc.). If the Airlines tells us that we need to reschedule then we will follow their instructions, otherwise if we fail to meet our obligation, we can discuss making alternative arrangements and agree to shipping at another time or we (the seller) may choose to refund the entire purchase price of the animals plus the cost of the flight.

Shipping or delivering to the USA or outside of Canada

We do not ship or deliver live animals to the USA or outside of Canada

FYI…many American pet owners, come here to our home to purchase pets from us. We certainly welcome anyone interested in one of our pets and invite them to call to schedule a visit at our home in Niagara Falls, Canada. Before calling us please take a few minutes to review our website. Our website is usually updated several times a day. Every animal featured on our website, unless otherwise indicated, is weaned and is available for viewing.

We live in Niagara Falls, Ontario, only a few minutes to the closest border crossing. Our home is situated very close to the actual falls and tourist area so why not do some sightseeing while you are here.

We do bring pets home to Canada with us from the USA, but the regulations are different and being that we do not ship or deliver animals into the USA, we don't have much of a need to keep up with current USDA regulations.

However, many of our animals do go to live in the USA and we often get feedback from people who have purchased animals from us in the past. We have been told by some Americans who have purchased a pet from us, that it is usually very easy to bring many animals into the USA, if you follow a few simple steps.

Apparently....

Animals entering the USA do require inspection, but the regulations and inspection differs among species.

When crossing at Niagara Falls, you will likely be required to fill out a form and then go to the USDA inspection site located on Whitmer Road.

They have regular scheduled hours Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm and no appointment is required if you are crossing between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. I understand that, there is a small fee if done during regular business hours however, if you cross after hours you must call the vet first and schedule an appointment and an extra after-hours fee is also applied. I suggest that you ask about the fee during your phone call.

Before you make plans to come to our home to pick out a pet we strongly urge you to call USDA-APHIS just to make sure that the regulations governing the Importing and Exporting Live Animals have not changed. We have posted the numbers below.
